A very controversial issue in America right now is immigration. Most immigrants come into America from Mexico, but many also come from any other country. Immigrants come from all countries and some come legally; however, the majority of immigrants come to America illegally, without proper documentation, and now governors and state leaders want to sell licenses to them for more income.
This is not the best, or smartest way, to generate income. It is understandable that leaders do not want to increase taxes, but giving licenses to illegal immigrants is not the answer! When an illegal immigrant is given a license, they now have access to many things. Having a drivers license allows you to buy a gun, alcohol, tobacco--anything that simply requires photo i.d. The terrorists in 9/11 had drivers licenses. This allowed them to buy the guns, buy the plane ticket, open a bank account and rent a house. With out a license, they would not have been able to do this and maybe 9/11 would not have happened or at least not as destructive.
Am I saying that all illegal immigrants are terrorists? No, but they all cause harm to the economy of the United States. Illegal Immigrants do not have proper documentation like a social security number, birth certificate, etc. This means that if they do get a job, they will be paid under the table--the government does not know about it and receives no money in the form of taxes. In turn, they now don't have health insurance and rely on welfare, which was created by the government and funded by all tax paying Americans. The only way welfare recieves money is through the taxes that our hard working parents, and even us, pay. If someone doesn't pay taxes and is not physically or mentally disabled, they should not reap the benefits of taxes. Why should we have to work to support them as well as ourselves?
